The image is a black and white line drawing of a hot air balloon flying over a mountain range. The balloon is in the center of the image, with the mountains and trees surrounding it. The sky is filled with clouds and there are two people standing on the mountains, one of them is holding a sign that reads "Did you know? On January 7, 1785 Dr. John Jeffries, a Boston doctor, and Jean-Pierre Francis Blanchard, a French aeroplane, were the first to ride across the English Channel in a hot-air balloon. They crossed from Dover, England to Calais, France and landed in a forest after nearly landing in the icy water of the English channel. They are also landing in equipment and clothing to make the safe landing possible."
