God Save the Saltire - Scottish Independence Artwork Featuring Union Jack & Portrait #1852513 (License: Personal Use)

This conceptual artwork merges British and Scottish symbolism by overlaying a monochrome portrait-blindfolded with the slogan “GOD Save THE SALTIRE”-onto a textured Union Jack flag. The piece evokes tension between national identity, loyalty, and self-determination, using visual irony to critique or celebrate Scotland’s political aspirations. The halftone print style adds a vintage, protest-art aesthetic reminiscent of 20th-century political posters.

Used in articles, exhibitions, or campaigns about Scottish independence, constitutional debate, or contemporary political art; targets readers interested in UK politics, nationalism, or visual activism.
