1937 “You’re Gonna Be Missed!” Vintage Farewell Postcard & Envelope #1659549 (License: Personal Use)

This charming 1937 postcard features a hand-colored illustration of a yellow puppy weeping on a dock as a steamship departs, with the bold text “You’re Gonna Be Missed!” The interior reveals a two-panel comic: the pup writes a letter expressing longing to join the journey, only to admit it must stay behind to tend the grindstone. The accompanying envelope, postmarked Philadelphia, Jan 26, 1937, is addressed to Mr. Charles W. Kettwinkle and signed “Jenny Lady,” adding personal historical context.

Used in vintage ephemera collections, museum exhibits, or online archives focused on early 20th-century greeting cards and postal history; appeals to users researching nostalgic Americana, cartoon art, or pre-WWII correspondence.
