About this clipart
The two-panel cartoon shows two green dinosaurs labeled “Congress” standing in a prehistoric landscape as a fiery asteroid hurtles toward Earth. In the first panel, one declares, “The sequester’s coming! We have to act NOW!” while the other agrees; in the second, they cower as the asteroid impacts. The imagery critiques government inaction and misplaced urgency during fiscal crises like the 2013 U.S. budget sequester.
This image is commonly used in political commentary articles, op-eds, or educational resources discussing U.S. fiscal policy, government gridlock, or metaphorical representations of impending crises. It serves users seeking visual satire to illustrate bureaucratic delay amid urgent threats.
